WELCOME TO HISTORY PASSIONATES

The medieval remains bear witness to the turbulent past of Reichshoffen and the Northern Vosges. The border area has witnessed many fratricidal tears. Louis XIV, the war of 1870, the Maginot line and its bunkers marked the Northern Vosges over the centuries.

Witnesses to the wars of the past

From Bitche to Wissembourg the landscapes are dotted with military remains. Even the Schwarzbach river which passes in front of the house was part of the Maginot Line: many dams were built to flood the region in the event of an invasion. Many forts are scattered throughout our bucolic landscapes. Some, run by passionate volunteers, can be visited entirely. Interesting remains of the War of 1870 - and its famous BATTLE OF REICHSHOFFEN dot our hills.
